Description
GLC-TE is a transceiver module designed by CISCO for connecting Gigabit Ethernet ports of switches and routers. The module provides a wired connection between the networking devices using Category 5 (CAT5) copper cable with RJ-45 connectors. GLC-TE operates at a wavelength of 850 nm with a data transfer rate of 1 Gbps (Gigabit per second). The module is hot-swappable, which means it can be inserted or removed from a switch or a router without shutting down the device. It complies with the multi-source agreement (MSA) and Gigabit Ethernet standard, enabling compatibility with other networking equipment. GLC-TE has a small form-factor pluggable (SFP) design, which allows for flexibility in network design and implementation. The module supports both short-reach and long-reach applications, making it suitable for use in various network environments.
